Quality and variety of food is top of everyone’s list of requirements when considering nursing or residential care. Prestwood House and Prestwood Coach House can offer a truly award-winning standard of cuisine.

The Food Standards Agency introduced ‘Safer Food, Better Business’ in January 2006. The scheme is part of the government’s drive to ensure that organisations evidence how they ensure that the meals that the clients are served are safe to eat. Our Head Chef and his team of seven comply with the new regulations to maintain high standards of hygiene and good practice whilst offering a wide choice of healthy, nutritious food.

Set menu
Every day, our Chef and the team serve up delicious cooked breakfasts, a hearty meat or fish based lunch and a lighter supper. All meals are balanced, and main courses are served with potatoes and two fresh vegetables.

There are always traditional puddings to top off the meal – jam sponge and custard, apple pie and ice cream, pineapple upside down cake or creamy rice pudding, to name just a few.

A la carte
If there’s nothing to tempt the appetite on a particular day, residents can order an alternative choice from the kitchen, says our Chef.  Soup and sandwiches are served daily, and an alternative lighter lunch and pudding menu is also available.

All residents are presented with a cake on their birthday.

Special requirements
Our Chef is pleased to discuss any individual dietary requirements with residents and their families.

Mealtimes
Meals are served in the dining room, or in any of the lounges
or can be taken in clients’ own rooms. All mealtimes are flexible
